Tribes review

The Westin Costa Navarino is a strong family choice: reviewers praise extensive kids’ facilities (water park, slides, multiple pools, Sandcastle activities, sports and VR games), a child-friendly beach, spacious family suites (some with private pools) and consistently warm, helpful staff. Breakfast and well-kept grounds get frequent praise. Families should note a few practical issues raised repeatedly: high on-site dining costs, occasional booking or large-group crowding at restaurants, and transfer limitations (long drives from Athens and limited car-seat options).

Families love
  • Large waterpark and multiple family-friendly pools with slides

  • Organised kids’ programme (Sandcastle) plus sports, tennis and VR activities

  • Friendly, helpful staff and roomy family suites (some with private pools)

Worth knowing
  • On-site dining is often expensive and food quality is uneven

  • Restaurant bookings can be frustrating and large groups have sometimes limited guest access

  • Transfers can be long from Athens and some shuttles lack car-seat options

Great Family Stay, Beautiful Resort

We recently returned from a fantastic family stay at The Westin Resort, Costa Navarino. Overall, it is an incredible destination for families, and we would absolutely come back again. Here is a breakdown of our experience. 🌟 The Pros - Amazing for Kids & Activities: The facilities for children are top-tier especially Sandcastle activities and team and the water park where you can easily have the kids spend the day and love it. There is an endless list of things to do. - The Suite: We booked a one-bedroom suite with private pool and got upgraded to a sea view as ambassador, and it was perfect. The size was generous, the amenities were excellent, and the view was beautiful. Despite the resort being at or near full occupancy, we really felt secluded. - The Beach & Breakfast: The beach is stunning and well-maintained, super clean. In the mornings, the breakfast buffet offered a great selection of high-quality options. - Outstanding Service: The staff really made our stay. From the reception desk to the housekeeping team, everyone was super friendly, incredibly responsive, and fast to assist with any request. 💡 Areas for Improvement While our stay was wonderful, there are a couple of things that could make the guest experience even better (tips for the Costa Navarino app more than the hotel): - App & Itinerary Planning: Because there are so many activities on the app, it’s easy to feel a bit lost or end up planning everything sub optimally. It would be incredibly helpful if the resort / app created some pre-made itinerary templates (e.g., "The Active Family Day" or "Relaxation Track") to help guests organize their time. - Promoting the Local Region: The resort is amazing, but you shouldn't feel constrained to it! Costa Navarino could do a better job advertising the local area. Beautiful nearby spots like Pylos and Gialova have fantastic restaurants and scenery that guests shouldn't miss out on and that gives you a “breather” from the same people you see everywhere in the resort. - Restaurant Consistency: The food quality was a bit hit-or-miss across the resort. We had great meals at Da Luigi, the breakfast buffet, and Barbouni. However, our experience at Six was disappointing and didn't match the high standards of the others. 🚗 Travel Note for UK Visitors The only downside to the trip was the travel logistics. It is a shame that Kalamata Airport doesn't offer better flight options to the UK. Having to fly into Athens and make the long drive round trip with kids in tow is quite exhausting, but the resort itself makes the journey worth it. Would we return? Absolutely, without a doubt!

Beautiful area and stunning resort

Our second visit in a year, it’s just perfect for families. Only 40 mins taxi from KLX airport. While it has everything a family could need, pools, waterpark, basketball court, VR games, bowling alley etc, it still remains calm and sophisticated. Many families we met compared it to Sani resorts, so if that is your vibe, you’ll like it here. Massive choice of restaurants amongst the four resorts, but be sure to book ahead at busy times of year. Also easy to catch a taxi to Gialova, which has lots of nice places to eat and the charming Katerina’s which is even closer. The hotel restaurants aren’t cheap, but they are very good quality. Our favourite for a family was the Italian. The landscaped gardens are so well kept and beautiful. Even at busy times there are no sunbed wars here, although pool side ones go first! Plenty to go round, and that shows you the kind of guest who chooses this resort. Well behaved, respectful families enjoying quality time together. The room was lovely, unspoilt views of the sea. The whole place just caters for everyone to have a relaxing holiday in a truly lovely part of Greece. We’ll be back..

A fantastic stay with a few little improvements needed!

We have just returned from an incredible holiday at the Westin! Amazing service (every single member of staff were faultless), ambience, food and drinks from start to finish (a little pricey but that’s to be expected at a 5 star resort!) The sushi at Onuki in particular was a highlight. Our room was fantastic and we couldn’t fault a single part of it! The pools were all great with plenty of sun loungers and I loved that although it’s a family friendly hotel, the children’s activities were well out of sight if you wanted peace and quiet! Although we had a fantastic trip I would like highlight a few little issues/areas for improvement. 1. We couldn’t visit the beach club at the mandarin, the W hotel or the agora as the transfers available didn’t have car seats. I was very surprised at this when it is such a family friendly resort. Maybe this can be offered in future so families aren’t restricted to the hotel? 2. Booking dinner reservations was stressful - the app and concierge both often said the restaurants were fully booked however when we just turned up at night there was plenty of space available so I’m unsure why the app was saying they were full? 3. The 2 different menus available at Barbouni are not advertised on the app so I don’t think many people are aware of the different options. This is such a shame as it’s a beautiful restaurant! 4. Lastly, the lounge bar at Onuki is not advertised ANYWHERE and we only stumbled on this by mistake. For us it was an highlight of the hotel! What a lovely spot to spend the evening! I definitely feel you can make better use of this area. It could even be a second Branco’s type (late night!) bar. Overall we had the best time and we will definitely be returning! Thank you very much :)
