Tribes review

One&Only Royal Mirage offers many family-friendly strengths: spacious rooms, multiple pools, a private 1km beach, on-site kids' club and organised pool activities, plus guest reports of complimentary Atlantis Aquaventure access and staff who accommodate children’s dietary needs. Many parents praise attentive, child-focused staff and engaging pool/play features. However, families should be aware of intermittent heavy construction and noise, occasional beach cleanliness concerns, and variable experiences with kids' club staff and pool rules that may limit younger children’s use of facilities.

Families love
  • Active kids' club, outdoor play area and pool games that keep children entertained

  • Private beach plus multiple pools and occasional complimentary Atlantis Aquaventure tickets

  • Staff frequently praised for accommodating children’s dietary needs and attentive pool/restaurant service

Worth knowing
  • Ongoing nearby construction causes noise, dust and can limit pool/beach enjoyment

  • Reports of limited children’s swimming options (very shallow baby pool, strict rules on floats)

  • Inconsistent kids' club/staff interactions and some front-desk/billing service issues

Families talk about the kids club

The kids club and tribe facilities could be better - there's no sense of place; they've put a couple of games and toys into a few empty rooms and called it a kids club. That said, the staff at the kids club were great.

Always a wonderful stay at The Royal Mirage

This was the fifth time we have stayed at The Royal Mirage over the past 20 years. While Dubai has changed considerably over very this time, The Royal Mirage continues to be a special place and delivers a fantastic family holiday whatever age your children are. The hotel is unique in Dubai in that it has its own 1km private beach facing The Palm with views of West Beach on The Palm to your right and Dubai Marina to your left, set against the fabulous backdrop of the Dubai skyline. It’s also low rise which is rare now in Dubai! We were given fantastic rooms in The Palace on the fourth floor with wonderful, uninterrupted views towards the sea and West Beach on the Palm. It was a treat to watch sunset every evening on our balcony. Thank you Reception Team. Our two sons are grown up teenagers now and there was plenty for them to do with the daily pool volleyball in The Palace Pool to playing padel (the hotel has 3 tennis and 2 padel courts - fantastic facilities). There are daily activities organised by the hotel should you feel energetic! The Arabian Court also has a bar with large TV screens showing all major sports events as well as a pool table. The boys also went to the Atlantis waterpark which is complimentary if you stay at the Royal Mirage. My husband and I would get up before breakfast to swim in The Palace pool and a big thank you to the member of poolside staff who had our towels ready every morning on the beds we liked - such a lovely thing to do and I am sorry we can’t remember his name. The food is excellent across the resort. The relatively new independent Indian restaurant Tresind in The Arabian Court is a must! Outstanding. Eauzone continues to deliver delicious Asian food and The Beach Bar and Grill serves wonderful grilled meat and fish. The Shisha courtyard is great too. The Jetty Lounge for evening drinks is a lovely setting but it would be good if they had a happy hour each evening like most other places in Dubai. It was fairly empty compared to our last visit which is a shame so maybe a happy hour would help. We’ve stayed at other five star resorts around the world such as the Four Seasons and Anantara and they have hosted weekly welcome drinks from the management team, but this did not happen at The One and Only - a shame and something that I am sure would be welcomed by guests. The daily buffet breakfast at The Palace was extensive and outstanding. You can choose to take breakfast at Olives which is the larger, more relaxed restaurant or at Celebrities which is beautiful, but more formal. We personally preferred Olives as the selection is incredible - from the daily selection of fresh fruit and juices (green and coconut available!), to Arabian delights, breakfast specials to order, a chocolate fountain.. the list is endless. The other main reason we like Olives was because of the wonderful team of staff who work there. Nothing was too much trouble and they are a credit to the hotel - a special thanks to Esther, Pawan and Mercy. We hope to return again in the not too distant future!

A True Arabian Paradise – The One&Only Royal Mirage Is Perfection

From the moment we arrived at the One&Only Royal Mirage, we were transported into what felt like a stunning Arabian themed paradise. The resort is breathtaking, every archway, mosaic, lantern and courtyard is designed with the most intricate detail. Even the soft Arabic music playing in the lobby set the tone and made us feel instantly relaxed. It’s these small touches that truly elevate the experience. What stood out most compared to other 5-star hotels we’ve stayed at in Dubai was the calmness. Despite being a luxury resort, it never felt crowded or overwhelming, just peaceful, elegant and beautifully serene. It’s rare to find that balance in Dubai. The service was exceptional from start to finish. A huge thank you to Sanoop/John at the front desk for the warm hospitality and constant support throughout our stay! At The Olives restaurant, Christina and Pawan made our mornings unforgettable, their kindness and attention to detail turned breakfast into a daily highlight. We also dined at Eauzone, Celebrities, and Trèsind — all of which we would highly recommend for incredible food and atmosphere. The way the resort catered to our daughter made the stay even more special. She absolutely loved the outdoor play area, swimming pools, kids’ club and children’s food options especially the pancakes, porridge, seabass and French fries! The staff were so warm and attentive with her, making her feel just as valued!

Terrible!

Construction noise and drilling from morning until evening! There were ticks in the hotel! Everyone had stomach aches from the food during the entire vacation. The staff was disrespectful. Children had nowhere to swim except a baby pool with only 20 cm of water. Pool floats are not allowed. Children are not allowed to play in the pool. They charge money for every little thing! Even entry to the beach club on the hotel grounds is paid for guests. The pools are very small! Because of the construction, the balcony was dirty — it was impossible to go out or dry clothes there. All the clothes were covered in dust.
