Tribes review

Omni Amelia Island can be a strong pick for families: wide sandy beach, large family pool and small splash pad, on-site activities including a Nature Center and kid-focused staff. Villas and townhomes with kitchens and laundry are popular with families. However, parents should note inconsistent housekeeping and multiple reports of cleanliness issues (including mold), ongoing construction/noise, and extra resort fees and parking costs. Many reviewers praised individual staff who went above and beyond, but service quality can vary.

Families love
  • Large family-friendly pool and a small splash pad for young children

  • Direct beach access and on-site family activities (Nature Center, kids’ programs)

  • Villas/townhomes with kitchens and washer/dryer — convenient for families

Worth knowing
  • Reports of cleanliness problems and even mold in some units

  • Ongoing renovations/construction and occasional disruptive noise around pool/restaurant areas

  • High extra charges (parking, resort fees, expensive on-site food/activities)

An Unforgettable Family Getaway

We had the most amazing experience on the Omni Resort Plantation! If you’re looking for the perfect family resort experience, look no further than the Omni Amelia Island Resort — it truly exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere struck the perfect balance between relaxed coastal charm and refined luxury. What made our stay especially memorable was booking directly through Amelia Island Getaways, which gave us access to a beautiful resort villa and townhome. The hospitality from their team was genuinely exceptional — warm, attentive, and thoughtful in every detail. We have to give a special shoutout to Summer and Wesley Joseph, the owners of Amelia Island Getaways, whose attention to detail was truly remarkable. From the booking process through checkout, their care and commitment to making our family feel at home was evident at every turn. Booking direct meant we had full access to everything the Omni Resort has to offer, and we took full advantage of it. One of the undisputed highlights of our trip was a visit to the Nature Center, where we had the pleasure of being guided by Liam. Honestly? I enjoyed the tour even more than the kids did — and that’s saying something. Liam has a rare gift for connecting with guests of every age, effortlessly adjusting his pacing and explanations to hold the attention of even our 1.5-year-old. His love and passion for the animals was infectious, and his special bond with Gophina the Gopher Turtle was genuinely heartwarming to witness. Liam is a true ambassador for Amelia Island and its natural beauty — the kind of staff member who turns a good vacation into an unforgettable one. While we stayed in a private villa and townhome through Amelia Island Getaways rather than the hotel itself, we dined at the Omni several times throughout our trip and were consistently impressed. The food, service, and atmosphere made it a go-to for our family, and it added a wonderful dimension to our overall experience.

Natural Slice crew is the best!

I have a teenage son with autism and the crew at Natural Slice and Mellow Yellow were fantastic! We felt very welcomed and my son loved going there. He went almost every day for some frozen yogurt. Thank you to the Natural Slice crew, you all are the best!

Would Happily Return

Terrific family resort. We stayed in a villa in Captain’s Court. Quick walking access to beach, hotel and pool. Clean, comfortable and included a kitchen and washer/dryer. Only challenge was unloading car and climbing the stairs from the parking lot. Grocery (Harris Teeter) store is 10 mins away if you want to buy essentials for meals. Restaurants on property were really good but there are great options 20 mins away in Fernandino Beach. Golf, tennis and other activities were easily accessible and reasonably priced for a resort. Only knock on the experience was having to spend time sorting out the resort credits that we bought in advance. Front desk was awesome in working it out, but I should not have had to ask. Great place- hope to return at some point.
