Nice location, comfortable and clean
Stayed one night only; with family and toddler. It was a fantastic stay and we wish to come back in the future for longer. Location: even though it says it’s “in” Metsovo it is a good 15 minute drive from Metsovo town centre (hilly roads with hairpin turns). But you really are in the forest and it’s simply stunning. Service- I had few queries/changes to make prior to check in and the staff are extremely quick at replying/correspondence. Not only this, but dietary requirements were well noted (we had a coeliac guest with us and they had gluten free bread). They also allowed us to have late check out (so we could use the indoor pool for a bit- see below) which we are extremely grateful for. Room: we stayed in the grand forest suite (which comes with a separate living room and two toilets) and a superior suite. Both had spacious terraces with stunning views. Dental kit, vanity kit, shampoo conditioners all provided (smells divine); there is a kettle and coffee machine. Beds are very comfortable and cots are provided. Food: We had dinner at the restaurant 1350 which we enjoyed- great wine list with a lot of Greek options. Breakfast is served around 8-1130 and there is a great selection of food (including tradition Greek pies). High chairs are provided; and there is a children’s menu which has items such as spaghetti with butter/tomato/chicken fillet/meat balls). Staff are extremely polite, helpful and are very friendly towards toddlers! Facilities: there is a small shop on site selling swim trunks/local products. The spa is beautiful and there is an indoor pool- this is available to children from 10am-12pm; as it’s located in the spa and they keep the indoor pool adults only at other times. You can book the indoor pool for private use from 12-5. It’s fairly deep (for a toddler- at 1.1-1.5m) so it’s not a “splash pool” for toddlers. That said- we had a lot of fun there. The outdoor pool is only open from June to August. There is also a children playroom which is spacious with lots of toys- and it’s open 24/7- my toddler really loved the room. There is a small horse stable about 300 metres outside the front entrance of the hotel- and horse riding can be organised. Board games are also available in the lobby/bar area. Overall we really enjoyed our stay- it’s relaxing and beautiful, and extremely child friendly.
