Tribes review

Families will find Four Seasons Scottsdale appealing for its spacious casitas, large rooms and beautiful desert grounds, plus a kiddie pool and helpful staff. However, reports show inconsistent service and dining—late or unresponsive concierge, occasional overly salty meals, and fully booked restaurants on holidays. The on-site kids' club has sometimes been relocated during construction and lacks typical play structures. Some guests also reported pool maintenance issues and limited towels. Plan ahead for dining and check kids-club status before booking.

Families talk about the kids club

The cleaning crew and turndown service were always on point. The original kids club must be under construction, because when I went with my family it seemed to be relocated to a large ballroom with games and activities spread throughout.

3.8/5 stars. It's nice. I won't be returning.

My family and I went during New Year's Eve week and stayed until January 2nd. The location is nice and secluded, I can tell during the spring and summer that it must be really nice here -- I was quickly reminded that this resort is located in North Scottsdale.... Where it is naturally cooler. It was pretty quiet for most of our stay, likely because the weather had people indoors. The grounds are beautiful and well-kept. The valet were so sweet and extremely attentive. The overall service was good, but in comparison to other FS resorts I've stayed at, the service that we did receive was oftentimes missing something that I can't quite put my finger on. Maybe it's a level of warmth, or care that felt lacking? I'm not sure what to call it. Unlike other FS resorts, our arrival did not come with a warm towel and a welcome beverage -- which I guess I was beginning to think was standard at all FS resorts. We were fortunate to receive an "upgrade," which I had to call the front desk to understand how the upgrade was different than the room we originally booked. She kindly explained to me that the major difference was the view -- not being a mountain expert myself, I guess I could not appreciate the upgraded view, since my original booking was also described to have a desert or mountain view. Room service was always on time and cared for nicely. The cleaning crew and turn down service were also always on point! At their original kids club must also be under construction, because when I went to the kids club with my family, it seemed to be relocated to a large ballroom with games and activities spread throughout the ballroom. This is a very different experience than I had at other Four Seasons resorts, which were informal children friendly spaces, with things like small jungle gyms or fake ships with slides, and designated areas of different developmental play. Some issues I had: I contacted their messaging service a few days prior to my arrival to book dinner reservations for NYE. The person managing the messaging system said they would get back to me, and after 24 hours I still did not receive a response. After inquiring about opportunities to reserve a table for dinner on New Year's Eve, we found that all restaurants were booked for the evening. This might have not happened if the messaging service followed through with their intention to get back to me about my original inquiry for reservations. All this led to us doing in-room dining for the evening, which did not seem like a problem since the in-room dining service from the night before was just fine. We ordered a few menus items from Proof this time around, and wow! The food was so salty! I feel like the food was either double salted, or somebody accidentally knocked over the salt into all of their food. It was so salty, that my mouth was hurting while I tried to finish the rest of my dinner. For some reason, I thought this was a fluke, and thought that maybe their food was better if you ordered inside the restaurant. From my experience, I was wrong. My husband and child's food were both extremely salty, and opting for the breakfast buffet was a mistake. The buffet scrambled eggs were different consistency than the scrambled eggs that came directly from the kitchen, the meats were over salted, the French toast was stale and very difficult to slice, but the gentleman who was in charge of the buffet did a great job of keeping the area clean and caring for the guests that were retrieving their food from the buffet. TLDR (ratings out of 5): Location - 4 stars in the winter, is likely a 5 in the summer Facilities - 4 Service - 3 Valet - 5 Ambiance - 5 Food - 2 Family friendly - 4

Very disappointed… this stay did not live up to the usual Four Seasons hospitality. The property was clearly understaffed, and the team seemed untrained. Towels at the pool were scarce, and the pool area itself was dirty. We visited in the morning and returned in the evening for a night swim, only to find the same used towels still there and the area not maintained. Sadly, we won’t be returning.

Our Casita was beautiful, the bed and pillows were amazing, huge TV in the room and on back patio, nice in room bar and snacks.
