Tribes review

Benalmádena Palace is a family-focused hotel with strong kids’ offerings — lively kids’ club (named entertainers like Stefi and Natasha), daily mini-disco, and heated indoor and outdoor pools that keep children engaged. Staff, cleaners and reception are frequently praised for friendliness and helpfulness, and family touches (towel art, activities) are common. Families should note the steep hill to the resort, strict pool rules (no inflatables/balls) and repetitive or inconsistent evening dining and limited children’s food options that some guests found disappointing.

Families love
  • Strong kids’ club and entertainers with daily activities and mini-disco

  • Heated indoor pool plus outdoor pool activities and family-friendly programs

  • Friendly, helpful staff and attentive housekeeping (towel art, kid-friendly touches)

Worth knowing
  • Steep hill and limited access makes arrivals with buggies/strollers difficult

  • Repetitive or lower-quality dinner options and limited children’s menu choices

  • Pool restrictions (no inflatables/balls) and occasional arcade/machine maintenance issues

Great first family holiday

We had a lovely holiday here as a young family with our 9 month old. The reception staff were amazing and really helped me when our little one was ill and needed to go to hospital to get checked out (FYI the hospital was also great and only 10 minutes away if you have an emergency). As our baby was unwell for most of the holiday we didn't get chance to use the pools but they looked great. We were B&B but the breakfast spread was great for everyone. The omelette station and fresh pancakes were my favourite and you get seated very quickly. Breakfast stopped at 11am and I went in little late some mornings and there was still plenty of food at 10:45am but its best to get there earlier. We didn't pay for a pool or seaview but I actually preferred our room as it was on the 3rd floor (same as reception and the shop) and it was quieter which worked out for us due to our baby being unwell. Our balcony overlooked the tennis court and mini golf area and was a decent sized balcony. The lifts do take some time to arrive when its a busy time but the restaurant was only 2 floors down from reception. The maids were great and cleaned the room very well however with our son being unwell I requested that the sheets to be changed one day but they wrote a note to say that they only change them every few days which I understand but it was quite obvious that they were dirty. The one thing that I didn't like about the hotel was that under the bed was really dirty and only noticed this once we were leaving as I was double checking if anything had dropped between the beds and it looked like ir hadn't been swept in years! Air con and the safe were free to use which was really handy and the kitchen was very equipped and clean. Lots of people have mentioned the hill to get to the hotel which looks bigger than it is and after a few days you kind of get used to it. There is a free bus to and from the beach every hour-ish I think so if you dread the walk up or are unable to walk up then there is that to help. The beach is such a short walk down the hill and there are lovely bars and restaurants within a 15 minute walk. The restaurants on the beach are a little pushy to try and get you in but honestly they serve lovely food and you can even see it being cooked right infront of you. The harbour is about half an hour ish walk down the beach but it was an easy stroll as there's lots of bars to stop at along the way to break it up. The local supermarket is also a 5 minute walk away and sells just about everything you can think of but not many English products there. If you want the English snacks then you can get all of that stuff in the mini supermarkets down the road in Benalmadena. I saw someone say that there were no plugs in the rooms for the bath or sink but I went to reception and asked for 2 so we could bath our baby and they were happy to hand them over. Not too sure why they are gatekeeping the plugs from guests but I was so glad I asked as washing up would have been a struggle without one. Overall the hotel was charming, clean, welcoming and in great area where its quiet in the hotel but within a short walk you are in the busy area. Also there was a lot of activities on the activity board for all ages so plenty to do if you wanted to join in with entertainment.
