Tribes review

Atlantis, The Palm is a playground for families: standout kids clubs, a huge Aquaventure waterpark, numerous pools, lifeguards, and plentiful family activities and restaurants. Staff and housekeeping get frequent praise for attentive service and kid-friendly touches. However, families should budget for expensive add‑ons (fast passes, towels, some food/drinks) and note slide height limits (around 1.2 m). Several reviews during regional security incidents also flagged inconsistent crisis communication and sheltering, so check policies for cancellations and emergency support.

Families love
  • Large Aquaventure waterpark with many slides and pools suitable for children

  • Highly rated kids clubs and many supervised activities with enthusiastic staff

  • Attentive, family-focused service and very clean, comfortable rooms

Worth knowing
  • Many facilities and perks carry extra charges (fast passes, towels, certain food/drinks)

  • Some slides have height restrictions (around 1.20 m) limiting younger children

  • Reports of inconsistent crisis management and sheltering during regional security incidents

Perfect stay for one dad with his daughter (9) and son (5)

Very nice kids clubs, aqua park, restaurant and everything. Kids club: Baby shark, Lwazie, Sushi, Fifi, Ryana, Joseph, Ata, Haha, Bubbles and Tabby were all very nice. We stayed there more than 2 weeks due to flight cancellations and everything was done to make us feel as confortable as possible. Better if your kids are both taller than 1.20 meters to be able to do all the nice slides, otherwise you won’t fully enjoy the aquapark. Rooms were nice and always clean. Great isolation both from the sunlight and the noise. We enjoyed great nights of sleep. Half board was really worth it and we enjoyed many nice restaurants. The total price is more than correct given all the things you have. The hotel is not far from the dubai mall (less than 60 AED with the taxi in front of the hotel). The place is really perfect for a family trip.

A wonderful 5* resort that lives up to its status- it should be renamed Atlantis of dreams

A wonderful luxurious 5* magical paradise. This hotel is everything you could ever dreamt off and more. We got checked in by a very handsome man who was super polite and professional and made us feel like royalty. We got a lovely little upgrade with superb views. The amount of stuff for Kids and adults to do in this place is endless. Staff go above and beyond and customer service is one of the best in the world and I’ve been to a lot of places. The kids club staff are wonderful and treat kids like royalty . My child didn’t want to leave. The kids club is amongst the best I’ve ever Ever seen in my life. The food is high quality and mouthwatering - we ate in saffron and kaleidoscope and to say they were incredible is an understatement. The flavour of the food was absolutely up there with Michelin star. The aquarium is mesmerising also 😍, I could sit and watch it for hours . The Resort is incredibly clean and well kept, the beach and kids activities plus the adults was superb. The attention to detail from the housekeeping staff was so impressive also. Lots of extra touches with little fish on your charging leads and slippers positioned beside the bed. A piece of my heart stayed in this wonderful resort when we left. we as a family will most certainly be back( only for much longer next time). Thankyou Atlantis and Staff- you made our dreams become reality 🙂‍↔️

Will not return

Atlantis The Palm is, in many ways, exactly what you would expect for the very high price you pay — an impressive, iconic hotel with grand facilities and the level of luxury typically associated with one of Dubai’s most expensive resorts. Unfortunately, our experience during the recent air strike alerts was deeply unsettling and revealed serious shortcomings in the hotel’s crisis management. When our iPhones issued emergency alerts instructing us to shelter, guests were directed into a kitchen area that was essentially glass-walled and not underground. This did not feel like a safe or appropriate shelter during a situation where explosions could be heard nearby. We were told that the conference suite was closed, yet later discovered that some families had been allowed to sleep there. At the same time, guests were not permitted access to a basement area that appeared far more suitable as a shelter. Throughout this period, service staff continued working as normal with smiles on their faces as though nothing unusual was happening, while management were largely absent from the front line. When they were present, they were stern, rude and focused on payment issues rather than guest welfare. Managers were extremely difficult to reach despite multiple attempts. Complaints were raised repeatedly — at the front desk, by telephone, via email and on social media — yet none were acknowledged by hotel management. What was most troubling was witnessing hundreds of guests being required to check out during ongoing air explosions. Among them was a woman travelling alone with two young children, one of whom was physically vomiting with fear. When I raised my concerns about vulnerable guests being forced to leave during an active situation, a very stern female middle manager informed me that the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism guidance regarding supporting stranded guests was “open to interpretation,” that guests were free to seek “more competitive prices elsewhere,” and that because the hotel is owned by the Dubai government, complaints to the authorities would not lead anywhere. This response was shocking. For a hotel of this cost, stature and reputation — and one owned by the government — I expected far more in terms of leadership, communication and care for guests during a crisis. Luxury hotels are not defined only by their facilities, but by how they protect and support their guests when circumstances become difficult. In this case, the crisis management was deeply disappointing. I would not return.
