Stunning Location, Mixed Experience for Families
Before booking, I found it difficult to come across a review of Angsana Corfu that offered a balanced perspective for families, highlighting both the positives and the areas for improvement. I hope this review provides some clarity and proves useful for other families considering a stay.
Service: 4/5
The staff were warm and welcoming throughout our stay. A special mention goes to Nina the guest relations manager. She was personable, attentive, and went out of her way to make sure we had a good experience. She is a real credit to the hotel. Service overall was good, though at times less consistent in other areas compared to what you’d expect at this level.
Family Friendliness: 3/5
The hotel has a pool and beach access which children naturally enjoy, and the one-bedroom villas provide an excellent option for families. However, the kids club is geared more towards very young children (under 5) and offered nothing engaging for our children aged 7 and 9. There are no sports courts, padel, or structured activities for older kids, which makes the offering feel limited for longer family stays.
Activities & Facilities: 3/5
The gym and pool are well maintained, but otherwise activities are limited. The absence of recreational facilities such as tennis or padel courts was noticeable, and would have added real value to the stay. Compared to other resorts we’ve visited, which have offered archery, bowling, animal encounters, or small 5-a-side football pitches, Angsana Corfu feels lacking in variety for a varied age group.
Room: 3.5/5
We booked a one-bedroom suite, which was spacious and comfortable enough for a family of four. Unfortunately, it faced the front of the hotel, resulting in noisy evenings from events, shuttle buses, and arriving cars. For a peaceful night’s sleep, I would recommend requesting a room away from the lobby.
The one-bedroom villas are a far better option. They are beautifully designed with a well-thought-out layout, private pools, outdoor seating, and a real sense of privacy. For families, they provide comfort, space, and an elevated experience that feels much more aligned with the resort’s promise.
Dining & Beverage: 2.5/5
The Emerald Beach Club was the highlight for us, offering good food in a beautiful beachfront setting where the kids could play in the sand. However, dining overall felt inconsistent.
The buffet restaurant was often chaotic during busy periods, and simple requests such as hot water for tea had to be made several times before being fulfilled. For families with dietary needs, options also felt limited—particularly for children requiring nut-free desserts, where something as basic as plain vanilla cakes would have been appreciated.
Room service was especially disappointing. On a rainy day we ordered pizza and chips, but the chips arrived soggy and the pizzas were so poor that even the children refused them. At this price point, a higher standard of quality and consistency should be expected across all dining outlets.
Overall: 3/5
Angsana Corfu offers breathtaking views and some excellent staff, but it falls short on family-friendliness and facilities for older children. It’s a beautiful resort with scenery that is outstanding but at this price point we expected more in terms of activities, suite experience, and dining consistency. Would I return? Probably not. Corfu offers other hotels that seem to cater more effectively to families—such as the Ikos brand. While all-inclusive resorts are not usually my preference, when you have young children you want a holiday filled with memorable experiences, created not only through family time but also through the facilities and activities offered by the hotel.
If you are visiting with family, I would strongly recommend one of the villas rather than the suites. They are truly stunning—spacious, thoughtfully designed, and equipped with private pools and outdoor areas that create a sense of comfort, privacy, and luxury.
Finally, it’s worth ending with another mention of Nina at the front desk. Her professionalism, warmth, and genuine care stood out throughout our stay. She represents the very best of customer service—knowledgeable, approachable, and always willing to go the extra mile. Angsana Corfu is fortunate to have her.
